Either at home or in the office, keeping your money, important documents, and other valuables safe is not only a smart thing to do, but most commonly a necessity. A security safe will protect its contents from burglary, limit unauthorized access to documents, media files, or firearms and keep them protected from fire, flood, or other natural disasters. Featuring different layout and level of protection, all the security safes are designed to offer the peace of mind.

A security safe is a lockable box that will keep your valuables protected against theft or damage caused by fire, water, etc. Typically constructed from durable reinforced steel, security safes have three walls and a removable or hinged door. Though available in a variety of sizes, the most commonly used are mid-sized cuboid or cylinder safes for holding valuables and tall gun safes for secure firearm storage. When choosing a safe, it is necessary to determine where the safe will be kept and what type of lock it uses. There are general, underfloor, wall, deposit and gun safes with key, combination, electronic, and biometric locks.

If you need a traditional safe that can be used in any location and will effectively protect documents and valuables, then choose a general purpose safe. Offered in an array of sizes, conventional safes are practical and reliable. If you want your safe to be as inconspicuous as possible, an underfloor safe is your first choice. It can be easily concealed with a rug, carpet, or cabinet. Most commonly used are wall safes that are installed into wood or concrete walls thus keeping the safe difficult to notice, when covered with a mirror or picture. Deposit safes are ideal for business use at banks, malls and stores that make nightly deposits.

The main disadvantage of mechanic key locks is that the key might be lost or stolen, while retrieving another set of keys from the manufacturer may be problematic and time-consuming. Most combination locks function by using a keyboard for entering your unique 3-4 digit combination. Coupled with a key lock, the combination lock will provide added security. Electronic lock can be programmed with more than one combination, which is convenient when the safe is used by several people. A biometric lock uses fingerprint scanner that identifies authorized users and ensures the highest level of protection.
