When much more force must be applied than would be possible with pneumatic tools, hydraulic tools are the solution, which is why they are commonly used in heavy construction and industrial applications. Hydraulic tools are powered by pressurized oil. Unlike air, fluids are incompressible, and hydraulic tools can operate at much higher pressures and deliver many times more force than comparably sized pneumatic tools, with more precise control and no delay in the movement. Hydraulic systems also operate more efficiently, and the hydraulic pump can be located at some distance from the tool without a significant loss of power. Hydraulic tools are unaffected by cold and moisture, they are generally quieter than pneumatic tools, and extremely durable as well since they are self-lubricating. Our digital shelves are packed with all your hydraulic tools & equipment needs. We can supply you with tools for cutting, drilling, pressing, pulling, and manipulating fasteners, along with the necessary pumps, motors, hydraulic hose, valves, and accessories.
While hydraulic tools are prevalent in manufacturing and heavy equipment service, they’re also common in automotive mechanical and body repair shops. Floor and bottle jacks, engine hoists and shop presses all utilize hydraulics for raising vehicles off the floor, pulling engines, pressing on bearings and many other tasks. If the ram in your engine hoist is leaking, we have replacement integral pump rams as well as a large selection of single and double acting external pump rams (also known as cylinders) in a wide range of ton capacities and stroke lengths. External pump actuated rams are a key part of our body and frame repair porta power kits, which also include a manual hand pump, extension tubes in several lengths, a spreader, and a variety of attachments to affix to the ram or extension tubes for pushing or pulling jobs. Here you’ll also find hydraulic hose crimping machines as well as the necessary collets and tooling needed to attach fittings to hydraulic hoses.
You’ll be able to tackle any shop press jobs when you’re equipped with one of our hydraulic presses. We have an extensive selection from which to choose so you’ll be able to get the model with the capacity and features that are ideal for what you’re working on. We have basic bottle jack presses, presses with externally actuated rams and separate hand or foot operated pumps, and air and electrically actuated presses, in 5 up to 200-ton capacities. In addition to conventional H-frame presses we also have mobile hydraulic press tools and specialized presses for tasks like crushing oil filters or removing wheel studs. We can also supply you with the tooling and accessories you need for all your press jobs including press plates, V-blocks, and supports; press pins and bearing separators; and complete press accessory kits.
Our heavy-duty hydraulic tool selection includes 3/4" and 1" drive impact wrenches; high-torque hydraulic drive units for driving and tapping applications; high-torque hydraulic nut runners for turning valves, tightening, tapping, reaming, pipe beveling, and expanding applications; and hydraulic torque wrenches with up to 35,600 ft. lbs. maximum output. We have hydraulic rotary hammer drills, magnetic drills and core drills; hydraulic reciprocating saws, band saws, hack saws, and chain saws; hydraulic riveters and hydraulic punches. When you need to cut cast iron, tile or concrete pipe up to 18” in diameter we have the hydraulic cutters, plus we have hydraulic nut splitters and even underwater hydraulic grinders. And for those tough pulling jobs we have hydraulic 2-jaw and 3-jaw puller sets, and puller accessories.
Hydraulic tools and externally actuated hydraulic rams can be operated by a variety of pumps. We have single speed and 2-speed manual hand pumps, including pump and ram combos, air hydraulic pumps and electric hydraulic pumps; and electric and manually operated pump mounted valves to control flow. In our hoses & accessories section you’ll find hose in a range of lengths and inside diameters with high operating and burst pressure ratings, couplers, adapters and pressure gauges. And if you want to test hydraulic flow circuits on heavy-duty industrial and agricultural machinery, we can supply you with hydraulic flow meters that can measure flow accurately within 1% of indicated value in circuits from 2.5 to 100 GPM.
